Universiti Utara Malaysia continues to excel when it is listed as one of the world's top universities in 'Business and Economics' by the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2020 announced on November 6.
The London-based organisation has listed UUM amongst the top 401-500 universities from 632 universities around the world and fifth in Malaysia in the fields of Business and Economics.
For the 2020 edition, Times Higher Education adopted 12 indicators grouped into five categories: teaching (30.9 percent), research (32.6 percent), citations impact (25 percent), revenue generation from industry [research] (2.5 percent) and international outlook (9 percent).
In addition, to be listed in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject 2020 in Business and Economics, a university must have at least 200 publications indexed by SCOPUS for a period of five years (for the 2020 edition, Times Higher Education applies publications published from 2014-2018) and has at least 5 percent or 50 academic staff in the related field.
